Northleaf’s 200-person team, located in Toronto, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Menlo Park, Montreal, New York and Tokyo, is focused exclusively on sourcing, evaluating and managing private markets investments. Northleaf has raised eight global private equity funds, three specialist private equity secondaries funds, one direct private equity fund, three Canada-focused venture capital funds, one direct growth-stage co-investment fund, three global private credit funds, four OECD-focused infrastructure funds and a series of separately managed accounts with customized investment strategies tailored to meet the specific needs of leading institutional investors and family offices.

POSITION: Total Rewards Consultant

Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards you will:

  • Play an integral part in the development and execution of a comprehensive global total rewards strategy that will enable Northleaf to attract, reward and retain top talent
  • Manage aspects of Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, Savings plans, Non-Financial Recognition, Wellness and Time-Off) from design and development, implementation, governance, and ongoing evaluation of competitiveness
  • Provide total rewards advice and counsel to senior leaders and managers
  • Focus on progressing our internal carried interest processes and re-imagining our overall communication strategy to ensure an exceptional employee experience
  • Be responsible for compensation accruals and forecasting in partnership with business and Finance
  • Own the compensation survey process and lead the annual review of base salary and incentive pay across the organization in partnership with key stakeholders through the preparation of market benchmarking materials
  • Integrate performance and compensation data into HR systems (i.e., Bamboo HR) to facilitate reporting and analysis
  • Engage in special initiatives to further your learning and career progression

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of compensation/total rewards related experience or similar role
  • Experience with compensation survey management and participation is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and connect insights to the bigger picture
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and strong curiosity and willingness to learn by asking questions
  • Demonstrably high standards of professionalism and integrity
  • College, University, or Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources or other related field of study
