We are looking for Compensation Experts (and those who are becoming experts) to join our team in the design, delivery and execution of compensation programs for over 10,000 employees at a great Canadian company. You’ll be part of a collaborative team of creative problem-solvers, turning compensation issues into advantages by providing data driven, creative solutions aligned to our business and human resource strategies!

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located across Canada.

What you will do:

  • Nurture trusted relationships providing expert advice, counsel and direction in support of short and long-term strategic business objectives
  • Collaborate with HR partners to integrate compensation programs with performance management, benefits and pension, employee engagement, employee relations, talent acquisition and talent development
  • Contribute to the company’s business strategies ensuring compensation programs are relevant, competitive and sustainable
  • Focus on continuous process improvement, automation and streamlining of compensation practices, processes and tools
  • Proactively leverage networks and market data to provide the business with competitive insights enabling internal equity through job evaluation and architecture
  • Collaborate on the enhancement and maintenance of compensation, job evaluation administration systems, advising on functionality and process flow
  • Participate in the annual compensation review cycle involving short-term and long-term incentive plan processes including award calculation, payment and communication
  • Support the preparation of HR-related Committee and Board materials and annual regulatory filings
  • Form clear and relevant compensation communications for stakeholders for insight on compensation programs and processes

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years of progressive related compensation experience
  • A self starter, achievement and solution-oriented with a pattern of continuous learning
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and consultative skills
  • Organizational awareness and an understanding of both the “big picture” and the details
  • Strong problem solving skills and a love for research with the ability to turn data into intelligence
  • Advanced technical skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and adept with Compensation and HR Systems
  • College / University degree
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) are assets
