Compensation Analyst

We are partnering with a leading Canadian organization to recruit an experienced Compensation Analyst. This position will support the design, implementation, communication and administration of all compensation related activities and initiatives. Report to Manager Compensation, the Compensation Analyst is expected to provide hands-on support, strong analysis and constructive recommendations to the business as well as HR business Partner. Job location is Mississauga and it is a Hybrid role with flexibility working from home.

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as a key contributor to support year-end compensation activities (base salary, bonus programs, variable compensation)
  • Support Board of Director meeting material preparation
  • Process job evaluation with defined methodology, provide on-going education and consultation to HR and business functions
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to HRBP on employee’s off-cycle salary increase
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc salary surveys for both Canada and the U.S, and manage survey results. Identify market best practices and compensation trends. Conducts market benchmark analysis
  • Provide analysis and support in annual compensation structure review
  • Act as a key resource in administering Scholarship program and Vehicle Allowance program, supporting in pay equity plan/ project
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service
  • Identify opportunities of improvement and make recommendations for improving compensation function efficiency and service quality
  • Participate or assist in other compensation projects if required and take ad hoc tasks assigned


  • College or Undergraduate degree. CCP designation or working towards is an asset
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Compensation field; working in a federal regulated company is an asset; working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Consulting experience is preferred
  • Experience with SAP Success factor is an asset
  • Comfortable with fast-paced environment with demonstrated skill in managing multiple priorities
  • Must have experience in processing and dealing with large data set. Proficient in costing/ scenario modeling with Excel
  • Must be attentively focus on details, strong customer and result driven and time awareness
  • Excellent communication skill with ability to influence
