Compensation Manager

We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Compensation team! You will help support Husky’s global compensation design, plan management as well as compensation evaluation and analysis to help keep Husky competitive in the job market to retain and attract top talent. Please note that this role is based on site at our head office in Bolton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement and administer Husky’s compensation programs including wage and salary administration, incentive plans as well as job evaluations
  • Participate in the completion of compensation surveys (internal and external) and provide statistical summaries, reports and recommendations
  • Create annual salary ranges, working with your understanding of market data, salary aging and market matches to ensure accuracy
  • Act as a resource to our Human Resources teams, including partnering with our global Human Resources Business Partners on a variety of issues related to total rewards including over time guidelines/policies, student wages and salary recommendations
  • Project manage Husky’s annual compensation cycle, including coordinating communications, review reporting and analysis for alignment to guidelines
  • Research best practices in the industry for total rewards to ensure that the programs are competitive and cost effective
  • Document and improve compensation process to ensure Husky aligns to external equity and other legislative requirements

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in compensation , demonstrating strong analytical and research skills
  • University degree or Community College Diploma in a related field
  • Knowledge of compensation practices, including pay equity, overtime. Experience with jurisdictions outside of Canada would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of salary range development process, formulas and tools would be ideal
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and to articulate compensation-related concepts to others within the organization
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer software skills, including excellent Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Peoplesoft would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Mercer IPE, job evaluation, position class and market data is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and writing skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably with incomplete information and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Experience working to deadlines and successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision along with demonstrated project management skills
