About Global Functions

Human Resources is responsible for implementing HSBC’s people strategy. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

About the role

Assist the team in delivering core performance and reward initiatives to internal clients by applying professional judgment, knowledge and perspective. Perform research, analysis, compensation design, program implementation, and administration for key reward initiatives of the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the success of the team as a whole by supporting other team members
  • Act as initial contact for day-to-day manager and employee requests and inquiries related to Performance and Reward policies, programs, procedures and processes
  • Responsible for routine Performance & Reward program administration activities and regular reporting with strict deadlines to adhere to
  • Ensure data maintenance and accuracy of compensation-related information in HR systems
  • Conduct workforce data analytics to support review of compensation programs to ensure ongoing compliance with federal and provincial regulations
  • As required, lead workforce data integrity audits and recommend action based on findings
  • Research market competitiveness of compensation programs through compensation survey benchmarking and market pricing.
  • Support team activities to review or change existing reward programmes, including the design of new programmes in order to ensure that programmes remain effective, compliant and competitive in the industry
  • Support the team with the management and execution of annual pay review cycle with a focus on systems setup, data management requirements, audits and reporting
  • Prepares reports for decision-making using HR applications and Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Document new procedures and process workflow as it relates to performance and reward to ensure continuous improvement
  • Complete other responsibilities, as assigned
  • Make decisions within assigned authority. Decisions beyond assigned authority are referred to higher management for approval
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and reputational risks

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years proven professional compensation experience or equivalent
  • CCP designation preferred or courses in human resources, compensation or total rewards would be desirable
  • Previous experience working in a complex corporate environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven professionalism with solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain remote working relationships with partners across the globe in multiple time zones
  • Demonstrate analytical and reporting skills and the ability to recognize trends
  • Familiar with compensation surveys and benchmarking
