As our new Senior Analyst of Compensation, you will work as part of the Global Total Rewards Center of Excellence to help the business fulfill its potential. You will use your analytical skills and experience to support the team in the implementation and administration of compensation programs, such as salaries, incentives, job evaluations and salary surveys. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the areas of the annual compensation planning process, ad hoc reporting and compensation modeling and analysis across the globe.

You are also someone who is looking for the opportunity to find new and creative solutions to process improvement and automation while leveraging your expertise and understanding of compensation and systems.

For the immediate future, this role will be virtual and working from home as the safety of our employees is our top priority. Going forward, we would like this individual to be able to utilize an Altus office in Toronto – working from home flexibility will continue even after we officially return to offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the global annual year-end process
  • Prepares draft communications
  • Conducts QA/UAT testing of system configuration
  • Prepares and audits compensation data, system set up and security
  • Helps the team track and deliver on the detailed year-end project plan
  • Salary survey submissions & market data requests
  • Prepare, validate and complete compensation salary surveys
  • Conduct, gather and analyze market survey data as well as research current trends
  • Conduct comparative market benchmark reviews and recommend changes for roles in any global geography
  • Data analysis, reporting and systems review
  • Perform ad-hoc audits of system data and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
  • Develops, maintains, produces and distributes standard and customized report
  • Compile data for reporting and analysis in planning, developing and implementing compensation strategies
  • Support the job evaluation process
  • Supports the job analysis and documentation process by ensuring comp guidelines and completeness
  • Complete job evaluation documentation
  • Assists in the explanation of evaluation procedures and results to HR stakeholders
  • Conduct job analysis/evaluation for leveling and career stream for sign off by Manager
  • Participate and coordinate ad-hoc projects to support global initiatives
  • May deliver training to support the broader HR team in understanding how to apply/implement TR initiatives into their processes
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives including process mapping and looking for inefficiencies

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant field
  • 3+ Years of related Human Resources experience, 2 of which should be within a Compensation or Total Rewards team
  • Intermediate level Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, complex embedded IF statements a requirement)
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to consider the downstream implications in an environment of change that requires a flexible mindset
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute accurate work under timeline pressures
  • Comprehensive understanding of compensation programs, fundamentals, principles and practices and is able to create trust in stakeholders to ensure stakeholders make the best decisions possible
  • Understanding of related legislative rules and regulations (e.g., Employment Standards, UK Pay Equity is a plus)
  • Intermediate knowledge of enterprise level HRIS systems - Workday specific experience is an asset
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information; Exercises confidentiality, discretion, sound judgment
